My name is Hinako sakuraoka and I am certified GYROKINESIS® & GYROTONIC® Master Trainer and BASI® Pilates Instructor.

HINAKO SAKURAOKA

I am an owner, founder and a Trainer at Yutori in Hamburg.

I am still currently working as a dancer in the musical Lion King in Hamburg. I graduated from Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC in 2007. Since then I have worked in several Ballet companies as, Dresden Semperoper, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Poznan Grand Theater, Hagen Ballett and Musik Theater im Revier as a fixed ensemble and as a guest as well as musical productions as Phantom of the Opera (Hamburg), My fair lady (Karlsruhe), and Circus Knie musical (Switzerland).

Since 2012 I am a certified GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Trainer and also licensed as a Master Trainer to teach the teachers education for both methods. I have done all the therapeutic courses, specialised equipment courses (JSB, Archway) and Level 2 for both methods. And I had the great chance to work with Juliu Horvath himself, the Founder of the method.

I am also a certified BASI® Pilates Trainer.

My roots are in Japan, my home is Hamburg/Germany, but my love belongs to the whole world and all people. Because of that I am grateful to have the opportunity to teach and educate students all over the place. I also enjoy teaching different levels and kinds of people. Dancers to elderly, injured and rehabilitation to prevention and fitness.

GYROKINESIS®

GYROTONIC®

Pilates is an exercise that strengthens the core and enhances stability. The workout method on the mat and on the Pilates machines can give you a good balance of flexibility, strength, and muscle tone. The focus is on deep work and helping to heal from injuries, combined with the function of breath work.

At Yutori, we have 2 reformer/towers and 1 exo chair. This allows us to offer personal training as well as duo training.

GYROKINESIS® class takes place on the mat and on a stool. We move from our center into length and find decompression in our bodies. We move our spine in many directions in a rhythmical way. It has influences from dance, tai chi, and swimming. This method can be modified to fit anyone’s ability, from young professional dancers to the elderly. The breath stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in a sense of calm, well-being, and mental clarity.

GYROTONIC® training works on flexibility and stability simultaneously using a Pulley Tower machine. The machine is fully adjustable and can meet the needs of many people with varying body types and levels of strength. We create space and reduce compression within the joints. The trainer provides clients with an individualized hands-on approach to help with the movements.

At Yutori, we have 3 Pulley Towers, the ARCHWAY™, and the Jumping Stretching Board to offer a variety of exercises and modifications. We work with different breathing patterns as well as rhythm, making it great for coordination and balance. It also has a holistic approach, calming the nervous system.
